Small businesses are the lifeblood of our communities. Now, more than ever, it’s important for our voices to rise up and be heard.
Continuing a tradition that started with this year’s groundbreaking primary, DLO will stand with other small businesses who prioritize employee participation in the democratic process. We will be closed on Tuesday, November 6 for Election Day. We’ll be getting out the vote, serving as election judges, and providing standby legal assistance to some of the candidates and causes that we’ve supported with our time and talents this season. Our friends at Main Street Alliance have created a handy guide for ways small businesses can make their voices heard this election, and our friends at Find Your Vote have compiled all the best links in one place to get you ready to cast that ballot.
Part of our commitment to elevating the needs of small businesses in Minnesota and beyond means we’re proud to sign on to the MSA 2018 Policy Platform which includes strategies to equalize the playing field and assistance available to small businesses as opposed to big corporations. We believe in earned sick and safe time and paid family leave, and are working hard to elect people who recognize and appreciate the value immigrants bring to business communities.
